Valentine Fun!

Haven’t you heard the phrase to party like there is no tomorrow? Well, I take that phrase very seriously and let my creative juices flow from the farthest depth of my mind when I organize one at home. I love hosting parties, especially themed ones where I can cultivate my style as a creative outlet and indulge into my inner fantasies. 

Nothing matches the exhilaration of organizing a theme party and nothing makes me giddier than getting ready for one. Whether you throw a theme party or not décor always plays a crucial role in setting the mood. 

The bay window in our basement takes a creative transformation for any party or special occasion and becomes a platform to showcase my whimsies. With little creativity and lot less money, my DIY decorations added a lot of glitz, glamor and glitter on this party. I choose to buy less and throw in from what I have in home. 

From hanging DIY tulle décor, to cut out heart shapes (from gift wraps) to centerpieces (shoe boxes hidden with gift wraps) to DIY personalized frames (with ‘Jo Baka” memes) to even water bottles and props....everything is DIY. Just the paper fans are bought in from Michael’s with my 40% off coupon to add more color.

   

Never underestimate the power of a decor. It has always worked that few decorations go a long way in getting people pumped about a theme. Some fun and fresh celebration ideas always give guests a chance to don their creative hats and channel their energy into their best look of the theme.

When I was pondering over about how to make the day extra special beside serving them to this home-made sweet treat of ‘Mawa-Malai’ kulfi...“Jo Baka” memes came to the rescue for the party. Taking care of every smallest details...I added similar frames by our drink station and dinner table also. Since the theme was entwined with reminiscing old college days, I made a frame for every couple using their old pictures with similar funny memes for them to keep as a souvenir (which everyone loved and appreciated the gesture).  

Hosting a party at home calls for an elaborate planning and each aspect demands careful attention when you are picky as me for everything to fall perfectly. Although at times planning and decorating may seem overwhelming, but decorating for a theme party is one of my favorite part. Once you start preparing, tending to each aspect one step at a time, things will smoothly fall into place.

Our stage got flooded with selfies, posing with DIY props, playful games and a lot of fun banter that left lasting memories for our guests, just as we intended it! Until we meet again, toodles!

Valentine Tablescape with muchos love

Every season is a reason to party for yours truly, who often takes the chance to chill out, entertain and create more memories, and this approaching “V” day wouldn’t be complete without one such bona-fide entertainment. If you are being buried for the last minute ideas, here are some simple ingredients to transfer your valentine feast into an impressive tablescape in matter of minutes.

Masterminding the drama with things I raided within my home

The tablescape was called in service for reconnecting with few old friends, our long due girls gathering was dawdling around the surface but when we all seized that chance of meeting, I knew I had to throw in some love and razzle dazzle to rekindle our friendship. With Valentine on the way, red and white combo worked the magic.

Unlike last year’s valentine fireplace mantel, I didn't go overboard with hearts. Though, red being an energetic color itself, it didn’t take much time to turn that power of red into glamour. I conjured up my all red favorites around the house. These red glass votives caught my fancy during Christmas time and they came home with me.

Simplest ingredients are transferred into something impressive. The red carnations were plucked out and floated in the red bottom dessert glasses to be a part of my tablescape. The different friendly approach for napkins turned out no-fail way to decorate the table.

Sunlight baths the room as I eagerly wait for my girls gang

A chorus of pleased eaters on this table elevated the great pleasure of meeting everyone. Our last minute impulsive party turned out to be the most spontaneous event. After the meal, we all curled up on the couch and had an extra touch of sweetness served in parfait.

If you are eying for an easiest and less stressful approach for your “V-day, then you won't go wrong spelling out your feelings over with this most plausible settings.

Lots of Love and li'l bit of inspiration for the V-Day!

Hello and welcome to another décor post. We are half way already to the month of romance and few days away to the Love Day! Approaching any festive season or day,  my mind just gets flooded with fantasy of ideas, they become more fervent and vivid as the day comes closer.  Especially the V-Day! Do we need to affirm our love on just the most romantic day of the year? Not really, right?  Though I like to put more efforts to show our love little more on that day to the most important people in our life - our family. 

 

I have made things extra special gathering some DIY. This little vignette will sure get you in the festive mood.  Everything is gathered up inexpensive ways to make your home little more appealing. So here it is with lots of love and a bit of inspiration.

 

 

I have repurposed my shadow box differently. If you read my Christmas Décor post, you may have seen the different shade of the box with baubles in it. Now the appearance is changed with hearts. Few ripped pages of a novel made a perfect background for my red hearts.  Some unused scrap book pages and a heart stencil, brought out the perfect frame for the occasion. Had fun time creating something new with cutting and gluing.

Quotes on Chalkboard

My absolute darling chalkboard wins everyone's heart with that quote. I am a die hard fan of chalkboards, I have couple of them and I utilize them differently where and when needed. Won't you agree that my tissue paper flower gives a perfect pop of red colour. Make your own here is how! Few white frames were grouped on the vignette with a touch of red paper heart.

Few artificial rose petals were dropped in a clear jar for more red. An old frame was painted white with the touch of paper heart on top made an extra addition to the grouping.



I specially can't think of any vignette without having candles and flowers. So, go ahead add some candles and flowers randomly. The red paper fans came home with me from "clearance section" of Michaels came in handy to add more red on the spot.

So, what do you think? It looks cute, na?  The best part is, I played safe with whatever I found handy in my home. I was able to put this up together quickly in less than 30 minutes. You can always incorporate the same ideas with the side table or any console table in the house.
