August is like the Sunday of summer

Nothing beats jamming at the cottage in the pleasurable company of favorite friends, I am back and snuggling in the warmth and comfort of “Home Sweet Home” after all day’s work.

New loot of votive candle holders from Yankee Candles
Ignoring few moments of displeasure we had another hit year of cottage stay where hilarious conversations, strong connections and team work with few favorite friends made it a huge success. Beside all the perks of cottage life we excursed sandy beaches, scenic caves and abundantly lush green Mother Nature. We put on the tune and woo away life’ stress with few leisurely games of cards and late night chit chat ‘chai’ parties to officially authenticate our absolute madhouse stay at cottage. Kids chuckled and giggled leaving behind memories for us parents to relish in our empty nest syndrome.  Though the compulsive long stroll after their “Pokemon Go” adventure definitely made them a lot more overexcited ;)
Even though, we Canadians are blessed with the richness of nature, we don’t have fairly enough hot days to enjoy outdoors and August being the typical hot month we have plenty of sun to soak up in the sizzling hot days. With the spilling long list of “things to do” in summer, for now, our disciplined 9 to 5-er life is far eluded. And with overflowing guests, I am always in the "hosting mode".
Though, until we meet again, you stay connected lovely peeps for few lined up posts up here and enjoy August. Don't forget to take a chill-pill as August is like the Sunday of summer J toodles!

Half a year is gone..it's June!

As we welcome June, half a year is gone and even though we still have couple of weeks to announce official summer in my part of the globe, the scorching heat, since last few weeks, is painting a complete different picture of spring for us Torontonians. I gargled enough about unfaithful Canadian winter and now fairly earn to quip about the sunny days :). Seeing Mr. Sun shining splendidly intense here, every day, makes me nostalgic, reminding me of Indian summer where we grew up without a weather apps or having a glance at meteorological conditions.

Life is chiefly busy these days donning several caps at a time. As we unleash the long held idea of making room for summer fun, we are browsing through and running across the list of things to be taken care at home front. Struggling between my demanding personality and buffering thoughts, hubs dear, who is frazzled enough, is turning a blind eye and letting me cut and paste my dream projects at home front by waging a battle here with contractors and workers ;).

To blur the trauma, “Keep calm and carry on” dictum is in effect with my ‘Zensational’ Buddhas on the coffee table. The beautiful snapdragons, my next favorite flowers after tulips, are adorning in a brass vase. Pop of red votive glasses add that color punch on the vignette. Accompanying also our new addition of darling li'l Buddha who constantly reminds us, "Not to dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment".

Even though, I have my hands fiddled in many happenings, I have got you covered for June with:
· A hometour with enough eye popping wallop to keep you glued on the screen at the blog front.
· Few frames of my warmly traditional entrance, where I follow my own whimsy and alter the look as and when my mood strikes.
· Our urge to wander this month will land us at another exotic location of Indian ethnic hotels.

Everything bubbling this month at Pinkz Passion is worth pleasing , so stay connected until we meet again, toodles!

Post Celebrations!

As we are settling into a new week, I am still under a hangover of post celebrations, which we sailed through this weekend. A total “feel-good” weekend with unending supply of love made Mother’s Day and 100th blogpost celebration at the top notch, which I still can’t stop gabbing about. Thank you each and every one for showing much love and support to my wonderful risking decision of blogging.
Kick started weekend with a pleasing surprise of cake and flowers by kids under the sure guidance of hubs dear. Mother’s day this year, knocked out all previous ones as we, bunch of dolled up moms, were flabbergasted with a limousine ride with some terrific arrangements to a casino followed by a fancy dinner cooked by all lovely dads.

Though, greatly earned title of “Mother” reaches at a tipping point when you float amidst the trickiest time of their growing up, dealing with teenage conundrum. For now, learning the dictum of love and let go is helping me overshadow their teenage tantrums ;), as I am dawning on the fact, that both will be embarking on an independent path pretty soon.
Hope you all wonderful moms out there had a wonderful celebration with your loved ones. With spring on my horizon, and young lady in the house, if you don’t find me much here on blogging, catch me on Facebook & Instagram until we meet again, toodles!

Greeting of May!

As we go forward to a new month, new friends, new Buddha and new possibilities :), hope you all wiggled away your stress and now refined well for the week ahead. We crossed the mark of 3000 on facebook page and happy to have new friends joined the passion journey with me.

Lugging away all goodies is the best part of my hubs circling the globe ;). Last month, upon his arrival, we welcomed new "brass" Buddha from India, joining the growing gang of our Buddha collection.  Now he happily coexists with rest of our proud brass.
May falls in one of my faves month where we could use extra little sunshine and wait for oh-so-liberating summer downtime. For now, we are nurturing the honest moments of parenthood with our older one back from university. Though, me and hubs dear often cobble together and ponder about these gadget savvy teen generation, but always end up playing bell curve of possibilities. Apart from dishing out motherly tips to her, we do enjoy generous, devoted and wise time while sipping, shopping and getting our pedi-mani done in the celebration of “Mother’s Day” month ;).

Today’s post marks 99th one and next one will be the long awaited 100th. It makes me proud to say I still find myself as passionate as I was when I started writing the blog, many a times I wrestled but I firmly banked on myself and climbed the wire just like everyone else did. To celebrate the mark of the hundred, I have stirred a cocktail of my favorite bloggers whose blogs uplift and inspire. I am not spilling the beans yet, let the things unfold organically in next post.

Until we meet again, you may find me facebooking and instagramming, so, stay connected, toodles!

Hello April!

Wondering what's on Pink'z radar this month? Weeding out the garden, dusting off the patio, and more of that adventure being closer to Mother Nature with taking spring strolls are already on agenda this month as we usher in long awaited spring life.
Another busy week passed by once brood head off to their routine after spring break and we are still left with a little bit hangover of Holi chaos and all the partying. We neither bound this year’s festivity to our virtual wishes nor let the unfaithful weather of Toronto ruin our day, instead we gambled and we dot on the festival in “Do me a favor, let’s play Holi” style with a very large crowd ;)

On a weather eye, these days, we are crawling out of the bed with chirps and opening windows to the most peaceful sight of our ravine backyard, which definitely is one of the best pleasures we appreciate during this transition of the year. Sun dancing overhead has started creating sun glitters on the distant rolling pond that really reflects the spirit of spring. Quacking stream of ducks and squawking of seagulls echo that spring is finally knocking at our door. Not to forget those wild life guests who make their occasional visit in our backyard making our younger one to storm out himself to get their glimpse. Glad to have our house rooted in nature and sometimes I wonder why I waited so long to get convinced residing so close to nature.

With spring on our way, filling this month's blog dose with few picture heavy colorful posts, reflecting the essence of spring around our home. Along with Tulip touches, a peek in our family room, which is ready to bask in the buttery sunshine, is outlined here on the blog. Moreover, you will encounter with our usual travel tale and a featured product segment.

Pretty soon, Pinkz Passion will be reaching to a new milestone of 100th post and my mind is racing for that one of a kind post to celebrate but don't want to spoil the surprise yet, so, you stay connected to recharge your inspiration engine with a busy lined up posts until 'April showers bring you flowers', till then, stay connected, toodles!

Budhha Love!

As our life changes, we go through several stages of life, where work and pressing demands are on a constant move. Our home is a free-wheeling place where we shed our burden, where we seek peace of mind and stillness, where we leave all cares behind by the end of the daily grind. And to build an atmosphere of well-being and calmness at home, my mind cliques on none other than the most iconic character Buddha. His emblematic personality and our plentifully grown mild obsession have urged me to croon the subject without investing in much thought.

Beside his gently closed eyelids and his sly smirk, I look for different "mudras" of Buddha before fetching any additional piece for our home. His every mudra or hand gesture epitomizes different symbol, different quality or an important episode of his life while spreading serenity in the atmosphere.
Vitarka Mudra portrays constant flow of energy and information.
As and when I storm myself to Home Goods, I have raided aisles in search of the perfect Buddha. And this splendid stone sculpture posed in Vitarka Mudra, is a result of one such quest. Glamour, spark and sophistication are blended together in this vignette. My all-time favourite votive candle holder not only add the small burst of colour but also lighten up the glow.
Buddha Head
Classic, timeless and stylish Buddha heads never go out of the trend. I proudly own three of them. The next 2 Buddha heads are also darling hunts from Homegoods, where an affable vibe naturally drawn me towards their calming features. This particular Buddha head with his meditative face and partially closed eye lids speak of elegance while spreading warmth and zen like calmness.

My inner décor demon was harder to tame when my eyes landed on this wooden Buddha head. Again his smug look and modesty on his face urged me to pick him up and bring him home. Intermingling the modern Buddha head with my antique brass made both stand out.
Buddha Head
Richly paired white Buddha head here with bold red statement connotes regal attention on this setting.
Abhaya mudra which dispels terror and unites one with divine protection and bliss.
Jade green, hand carved Buddha is a gift that we received many moons ago. Sometimes these long forgotten treasures that you have had for years completely gives you a surprised new look blending in with your new scheme. Buddha's calm, controlled and determined look in this Abhaya Mudra posture looks divine every time I call him on my coffee table.
Calling The Earth to Witness posture is the moment of enlightenment for the Buddha
Latest and new addition in our Buddha collection with "Calling the earth to witness" posture is mostly found in Thai temples. The twinkle in his eye and chuckle on his face are absolutely heart warming. His styled pose with elongated earlobes and golden clump of hair radiates magical aura wherever in the home he is placed.
Resting Buddha or dreaming Buddha illustrates Buddha being in one of several deep dreams
The sleeping or dreaming pose is believed to portray the Buddha in deep dreams about peace in the world and living a happy life. Dreaming Buddha was love at first sight at “Bombay” store. The most marvellous find is an ultimate in grace. His existence on the coffee table transmutes everything from functional to fanciful.
Reclining Buddha symbolizes his last moments on earth
Can't really complete the post without tossing in my brass, can I? Here is the brass galore with my only brass reclining Buddha. This particular lying down gesture represents his last moments on earth. A very well-known of the same statue is enshrined at Wat Pho in Bangkok. This pose is believed to be his last pose before entering "Nirvana"!
Buddha cheering our front doors
On the onset of spring days, pulling one more count of our outdoor Buddha from my Instagram archives. He has been placed right by the front doors to spread the calmness to everyone inflowing our doorway.

With these handful of enliven Buddha scores, our home is alive and engaging. For me, it usually takes one glance to please all my senses or calm my nerves. His arresting charm, inimitable wit and delicious affection have urged me to freely exchange my thoughts on our small collection of Buddha at home, which I hope truly inspires you to bring him home to sense warmth and calmness in your life as well.

Until we meet again, find me on Facebook  or Instagram feeds, toodles!

Blissful Fridays!

It's Friday, yay! Are you all geared up for the weekend? I am, but Fridays are simply special when I act of being one free spirit and a lazybones. The chill in the air (sometimes) makes me turn a blind eye on chores and doing nothing becomes pure joy for me. Zipping up the drive way with your favorite Chinese take out in hands, and heading the front door with a thought of not rushing in to kitchen or no pile of dishes makes me in a very high spirit! As I melt away the fatigue of a week in front of flowers scattered on the console table with flickering cinnamon candles, aah, its during those days when unproductive Fridays seem like a pure bliss :)
Though, these days, come to a weekend, we all feel like getting ready for a huge bash. The excitement of meeting our daughter on her occasional weekend breaks, begin to cheer every Friday evening for us. All the plans are swiftly postponed in the thrill of seeing her. Home gets buzzed with whirlwind of all of her favorite happenings. Obviously she doesn't strike an attitude of meeting us but we know the excitement equally dances in her eyes. Her approving smile being home tells us how happy she is with our presence. And did I mention about a cute smile spreads on the younger one's face to see her. Their playful 'masti' and loud screaming around makes the whole home cooing again.

Chitchat on all about her new life and taking a glimpse into the whole new world brings back the memory of our teenager life that appeared to have gone to a pot. Peppering her with the questions of new life may not be so cool for her but we are happy that the gap has forged strong bonds in our relations. For now, she is preferring the freedom that has comes with her new phase of life.
Amidst the all these frenzy, me and my daughter both are happily perked up for “Navratri”. A whimsical yet weighty festival and our absolute favorite. This weekend we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day weekend in my part of the world. An extra day off to be thankful of simple pleasure of our life, cherishing the joy of family and small world we are surrounded with. Until we meet again, stay connected you lovely peeps and don't forget to enjoy your Friday and weekend! Toodles!

Hello September!

Greetings with an updated visual from my end! As the new month settling in, I am fully armed with chock full of decor inspirations for fresh month, fresh posts and approaching festivities. Long strings of posts are lined up for the month of September. Day dreaming to concoct new plans and concepts to serve your appetite. Some aqua blue moods and pink and fuchsia carnations which I happened to pick this weekend are adorning blue room to woo away our blue mood. Flowers are my best preference to lift our spirit in this wallowing mood.

Presently, we are crammed with all the must know of new life as the young lady leaves home with a bold determination to carve her own path in the life for the future we all envisioned. Once we thought there is still long time but now it’s here and we are genuinely perplexed about how that childhood era ended so soon. We are bit taken aback thinking about picking up our life without her. A great deal of thoughts is racing for this unhappy transition. I guess it's best if we leave these encapsulated feelings untouched for now.

On the other hand, I have started to sharpen my creative eye to shake up the festive décor for you all to overcome the great emptiness welled up deep inside me. Happy thoughts and my blog with keen readers like you will surely whittle down the rough phase. Until we meet again, stay connected toodles!

Thankfulness!

We crossed 500+ on Pinkz Passion facebook page last week and I am grateful to have you all joining me on board. Cheers to all of you for being a part of my passion journey. Happy as I can be, to be encircled by supportive and cheering loyal readers who happen to share the same wavelength as me. Always gratified to read your appreciating words, comments, messages and love, which absolutely warm the cockles of my heart.

Blogging, in these few months, has been a promising platform to showcase my interest and channel my thoughts. Along with a stream of boundless opportunities, it has also unleashed my vision to express my own practical décor chronicles. Stretching myself by hitting the books and resources, clicking the perfect shots with undaunted approaches (of course, after few trial & error phase) and sharing with you all has gained me a victory in documenting my passion . In parallel, I got connected to talented people and motivational supporters. Budding bloggers & a melting pot of friends have likewise showered support and as a result, progressively, my passion page is being seen and heard.

A fresh look of my old flowering vase and new addition to Buddha collection

You feel like a pop star when you take the first leap on to the “blog world”. You look at the work of others and think, “I can do way better” but the more you absorb, the more you comprehend how much work it takes to be a part of it.

A new plus to Buddha collection

Blunders have been happened, after all, that’s how some of us got here. By dint of the those mistakes, we start to learn, trust and gain confidence in ourselves. I have had my share of initial stumbling block but the pleasure going down on this "path" has been worth everything. Slowly but surely, I have learned to turn a close eye to the people who strike me down and I have accomplished to embrace the motivators, who catapult me back to where I am supposed to be.  Now, there is not shifting reverse at this point.

Beauties from "Farmer's Market"
By means of blogging, I found an outlet in showcasing my collection. Friends/families never discerned the treasured and emotional pieces we kept randomly scattered over the years. The virtually pleasing artful arrangements enhanced the overall impact of the pieces. Blog has succeed to laid a significant emphasis on their beauty and value of the pieces we curated over the years. My young blog now narrates the story of where we have been, who we are, and what has been our passion.

An evening glow casting warm hues of sunny days
In this short run,  I have succeeded to lighten the heart of people and have touched many lives by injecting décor inspiration and motivation. The milestone has now fetched new ventures for the future. A gorgeous home tour, first time ever, is building up on the blog. Few artistic, inspirational and of course décor posts will be crawling up your screen pretty soon. Stay tuned on face book page for more updates.

Enjoy your rest of the week and see you around until we meet again, toodles!

Hakuna Matata - I am off to Vacation!

As I sit down to write this post, I am whipping up a storm with whizzing here and whooshing there. In the middle of all this, I am sharing a sheer joy of our travel across the globe to East Africa for this year’s summer vacation. After working our tails off around the clock, we are about to leave all the woes behind to create some memories of life time.

Firmly bitten by travel bug has embark this year's vacation to the place of our dreams. We decided a sentimental journey to revive fond memories of passed by era. (yes, we started our life journey from there)

My family is a travel junkie and always on a quest for a little adventure. The lined up vacation was a necessary leap for rekindling family affairs as we try to inculcate the same to our kids. After all, you don’t get that many other ventures to be a kid again to devote time with them especially when the older one will be sent-off for her new track of campus life.

A real world nature vacation vs fantasy places. Smashing safari with diverse wildlife will positively outrank the Caribbean vacation.  From "Flip flops" to "Toms" and from "Fruity umbrella drinks" to local “Matunda” juice will absolutely be lodged deep in our visual for long. A leap towards some excitement, new discoveries along with few laughs thrown in will be a perfect get away.

Leaving behind few stems of fresh carnation from my coffee table sitting pretty even after couple of days. So, off I go from the home land and of course from the blog land to mount up more memories and bring together more to share for my readers.

In my absence, I have lined up to throw back few old posts from the archive. Miss me while I am gone (go ahead, admit it, you will, I know).

Ensure you are following me on instagram where I will be sharing few snippets of our travel, as and when I get chance. Until we meet again, "Hakuna Matata", enjoy the summer vacation and good warm days, toodles.
