Summer Strokes!

Stroking some bite size ideas on my summer notes today. To undertake my decorative goals for the welcoming season, I try to acquaint with a new colour scheme and the existing pieces to set the style and create little area of cosiness. My mind always has thoughts floating around to shake up seasonal décor for approaching a better look and feel the place in my home.

Mingling with accessories and playing with what I own offers me an abundant preference. The principal factor, in my most decorating projections, is our proud crew of "Ganesha”. I take liberty to coddle in some unique combinations by providing contemporary spin on traditional pieces with the benefit of different Ganesha.

Exhibiting my brass wares for spreading out flowers is a resourceful way for seeking out the unexpected. I mostly incline for grouping of 3 objects to lend the visual power that only one alone would not give.

Rotating cushions is also my way of giving a splash to a space. Bold and deep colour for winter and/or light and airy for spring/summer looks always enticing.

For this season, I have punched bold pop of yellow and mango to build that summer triumph effect in the room. Custom-made cushions from Bristi lend a hand to complete that summer arrival in my niche.

My family tour will mention my affection of cushions and how every so often I change them. Of course, I don`t have that many cushions, I have all those different cushion covers which are always welcomed in the room according to my frame of mind and décor swings. Besides, they are quite easy to wash and put up when not in need. My linen closet is packed with those dressy, casual, colourful or neutral shades of covers.

Face lifting the fire place mantel from season to season is also on my evolving décor mantra. Stirring things around can make the same room feel so fresh.

Mr. Sun`s sweltering summer rays in my family room add the last touches on my vignette.

When I survey the scene after smoothening out every wrinkle, straightening pile of books, mist with linen spray or lit a candle to pleasantly hazy the room, I honestly get seduced every time I enter the place.

Rediscover your style with a little of this and a  little of that to open up a stream of variety in your decorating styles. Turn those under the eaves corner into justifiably known one. Be undaunted in your approach and you will succeed. Till we meet again, toodles!

Happy Mother's Day!

As I struggle to compose myself, initiating the thankful note on this special "Mother's Day" to my two beautiful, thoughtful, encouraging and loving women  - My Mommy and my mom in law. Also sending special bunch of wishes to all the beautiful and wonderful mommies out there.

I, being one proud mommy today want to raise a toast to my own motherhood by taking freedom to indulge in some motherly moments by sharing a jubilant time of me and my rebellious, stubborn and quirky teen daughter & oh-so cool, curious and of course clever son.

We are getting closer to have an "empty nest" phase in our life soon as our daughter is seeking out opportunities for her further education. I have to step back and pause my motherhood as she builds her own hard and happy times life has to offer.

Stealing a moment here to realize how time actually flies and the little toddlers with whom we have built sandcastle are ready to taste the beginning of adulthood.

I want to share a cheer to the day I arrested the twinkle in my eyes about being mommy, and also a cheer to the day I felt I was on cloud nine actually holding them in my arms for the very first time.

Pure delight to hark back to those hugging and kissing toddler years where "do not touch" - "do not put that in mouth" was frequently playing like an old record.

The joyousness of schooling phase where chauffeuring around the clock either for swimming lessons or dancing classes never seem to end. Where frustration manages to often break its own boundaries, but I tried to keep myself contained and fully a mother figure image.

Gleeful, pre-teen years where we have struggled to defuse a constant ticking bomb somewhere in them deep down, where we just pretend to control the note of impatience.

And now flustered teenager years where they are just lost in their own thoughts and in a rush to embrace the adulthood. We factually have to turn a blind eye to them even though our inner temperature soars.

Unlike many mothers, I have also learned motherhood pieces by pieces but I have enjoyed each and every phase of it by loving both of them eternally. Thankful to be blessed and loved and to be a "MOM" to my children.

Few posts are already on the tracks coming your way. Till than enjoy the bonus of beautiful warm weather and your "Mother's Day" to the fullest until we meet again, toodles!

A Springy Welcome

Our home is punctuated with many personal collections of 'Ganesha'. Many gifted, discovered, collected and inherited exquisite pieces are often revealed on facebook page. Though, some pieces of my collection tug at my heartstrings. Today's special appearance of my absolute favorite Ganesha is one of those piece. It is one of the interesting decor find of our proud collection. As soon as I had my eyes landed on him, I knew this fabulous, exceptional and unique "Ganeshji" is coming home. Many of you have witnessed my winter oasis of front foyer, created with all neutral white leaving a calm effect inside during those chilly, white winter months. Today, taking you closer to a more springy note. Few swirling spring thoughts and trial & error phase has resulted this vignette  cheering at the front foyer.

This fabulous plus of "Jhula Ganesha"(swing Ganesha) has been added to our collections since almost 10 years. The spring has repulsed my thoughts and my décor fundas to exhibit a remarkable piece from our collection. And on one of those "design moments" well chosen pieces are all set to guard my entry utterly uniquely.

Flowers have always been my best bet. A quote on one of the recent read; "Any thing that holds water can mostly be used for housing flowers" takes after my theory of setting flowers. Beside, nothing looks as inevitable as fresh flowers when you enter the home. Flatter the style with some fuss free arrangements of fresh flowers and you will be complimented at every initial encounter at the front doors. I have set them in an antique brass kettle to suit my purpose here.

My mirror where I check on my last appearance before heading out the doors has reflected the perfect capture of the vignette. The proud brass lion is a visiting card holder piece which was rescued from Aj's office desk to complete the boldness on my table.

Lately, brass details implemented into home décor are a huge hit. The common thread of brass stiches this vignette together as well.  Posing above "the Ganesha paintings" add playful hit of solid colors. The back drop art of brilliant water color painting of Radha-Krishna on cotton canvas was a gift from Jaipur (15 years back) which I treasured by framing. It has been just displayed informally  here so that I can alter different looks more often on that console table.

After gathering up all well chosen pieces for entrance,  I stir up some fun and achieved this look of spring at the front foyer. Have you added some design punch at your entrance to upbeat the mood of spring? I would love to hear all about it,  until we meet again, toodles!

Why one, when two can tango!

Punching things back to blogging by welcoming new members on the ride.  Happy Friday passion buddies!

Come to every Friday, I start translating my world at my own pace.   My spirits get uplifted infusing corners of my home with fresh flowers. After a compulsive rush of fetching flowers home, I feel instantaneous need to create something. I have lost count of the number of times I created or arranged this pretty vignettes at home.  Itching with an opportunity to create something different every time with a bit of imagination on the decorating front always calms my day. After a play of couple of possibilities of perfect arranging, today I feel satisfied with my achievement of the grouping of these 2 beauties. Seeking out an unexpected result and sharing it by writing about your passion is a pure pleasure I have felt through this blogging world.

My fondness of flowers and fancies for brass enriches this décor of only two items.  Artfully paired Nritya Ganesha on top of two swan brass diya completely enlivens the space. Trusting my instincts, I bravely housed the spring blooms in an ice bucket. The ice bucket is an antique find from a yard sale which caught my eye while strolling through web ;)

I love being in the company of them on weekends, when I treat myself with a hot brew or a favourite book. Adjusting my eyes to their prettiness makes me feel energized before heading over to challenging piles of chores ahead.

Squeeze in the end of the week by detaching yourself with realities and soak away the worries with your favourite flowers. Get some more of my flower fancy inspiration on Pinkz Passion Pinterest page. See you real soon with a Pooja Room Reveal next on blogging until we meet again, toodles!

Happy Sunday!

Sunday evenings, jeez, how I long to last them forever. Oh, hello there, I am back after few days of hiatus. I could finally steal a moment to connect with you all from the hustle and bustle of a busy weekend.  I really had a tough one with the muddle of emotions as my daughter left this weekend for couple of days for her school trip. Being a mom of a teenager going away for 5 full days without us all by herself, I have to be honest, I was concerned. She is the cuckoo in our nest, her presence is loudly felt by the rest of the family members so she will be missed. Despite of my growing unease, I was prepared to let her go. I didn't wanted my strong agitation to cloud her happiness. After all, she has to be ready and empowered to brace whatever life would throw. In her absence, I stole her favourite marble Buddha from her room and set out to our family room to fill her in until her return. Hopefully his "Abhaya Mudra" will help me find my calm that is far eluded me.

On the spring note, despite of all mother nature's misgivings, finally, she is smiling at us with lots of sunshine and warmer days. Frozen winter wonderland with some interrupted paw prints in my backyard pond is now beginning to warm up and coming back to life. Lots of rays of sunshine are melting everything away. I am loving this transitioning to spring with longer days and warmer nights. My tulips are perked up in few corners of my home.

Not escaping the truth, the weekend is almost over but I trust you all have relaxed and gathered up the necessary shots of energy for the week ahead. Signing off with zen like calm until we meet again, toodles!

Budhha Warmth

Catching up in the middle of a busy week. Hope you all are pulling through to make it till Friday. At my end things have started to get multi-colour and I am merrily stimulating a colourful post to share with you all. All the clicking, drafting, and editing  has brought me more closer to be an avid blogger :) (at least that is what I think)

At the bang of a festival, everything inside me churns. My racing mind gets filled with storm of  thoughts of the festivities we have enjoyed being with friends and family. Be with me as I dig the darkness of my memories and splash you with the colours of HOLI from my home to yours.

An oasis of serenity and calmness

Sure sign of spring is no where in my neck of the woods and winter is not budging or leaving upon our several begging and pleading. Though, I am leaving no stone unturned to bring back the spring. Bunch of tulips and warmth of Buddha are keeping us cozy enough to survive for the rest of the February. Visit me back soon for the treat of your eyes for bold and striking HOLI post. Until we meet again, toodles!

GROW YOUR BLOG!

A warm welcome to my blog party and  thank you so much for dropping by to say "Hello".

For those who have been visiting me since quite some time may have noticed the new appearance of my passion page... Say what? It is all dressed up for a party. Yes, a party... Me and my blog are attending a party hosted by Vicki from 2 bags full and this event is her third Annual "Grow your Blog" party. I appreciate her efforts and also her friends who are helping out to make this event another successful one. It definitely gives a chance to get connected with artistic minded people like myself, and make new friends. The more the merrier!

Lately I have been wondering after being part of the 'Blog World'. "Where was I ? What took me so long to be the part of this amazing world?" Not being too exposed to social media, my life was just limited to those who liked, commented and tweeted until I came across to this blogger world.

Now I am here to learn, here to motivate and here to give and take tons and tons of positive inspirations from all the lovely people around me.

A Little about me:

Just as you've read on my profile, I am a blessed mom of two beautiful children. Older one will fly away from our nest this year for her new life in university but thank god I will have 12 years old younger one, who is and will always be the baby of the house. Life has been a pleasure journey with my husband Aj residing in Canada for over 16 years now.

My phenomenal ways of decorating and out of the box arrangements have always amaze my friends or family. Be it a decorating any corner of my home in the most ethnic or traditional way, or an unusual party arrangement with some fancy surprises. I also win to impress them with one of our travel destinations scrapbook or an album I created. My influence on them tempted me to share my little happiness to people around me- thus starting my blog about my life.

Perhaps, I can not write about every thought pops up in my mind or every event I plan but by the mean of my blogging I can surely filter few of them and represent them for others to inspire or learn.

All about Passion:

When I started blogging my phone was over flowing with love and messages of my dear friends who were very happy about my new aspect of life. Pinky as my name, and passion as my game, the name of the blog didn't took a second to click in my mind since it was all about my passion, my way of doing.

Until now, I was connected to my friends via email or personal message to show something I created , share something for their inspiration or travel pictures to force them to visit one of the wonderful places we have visited. Now with my blog on my hands, my possibilities are endless. I have a place to share the joy about what we have experienced and recommend good things we have come across. It's now easy as I punch in few keys on blog and my thoughts are said and heard worldwide not only to my friends but also to all like minded friends like you.

Journey of my passion:

It's just been a couple of weeks since I started the journey and honestly loving it. As my creative ideas are unleashed, the readers are admiring my work and giving me thumps up for doing it. I have become a better writer, better thinker and better at my shutter skills to represent it all well.
Now I have actually develop an eye for all significant things around me. Though being a newbie to the blog sphere, I have the fear of my readers' acceptance, lots of should I or shouldn't I thoughts still shape up before posting. With their love of welcoming me on all I have done until now,  I feel, I definitely have a unique view and I have some inspiration to offer them.

Though, I have lots to learn and lots to accomplish before I come and stand up with many who have established their own identity through their blog. I am sure with holding hands of my readers and my blog buddies, slowly and steadily, I will find the path of the new little corner I created for all of us!
Thank you for being a part of this day with me, until we meet again, toodles!

Down the memory lane

Have you ever took a stroll down the memory lane? Try, take some time out from your busy routine or on a weekend and take a trip with the past treasured pictures you have with your loved ones.

I am definitely one of those tech savvy person, who loves to play around with gadgets, but when it comes to photographs, I prefer to gaze at a tangible picture rather than looking on a screen. The pictures we take these days end up only online or on our computers.

I believe a hard copy has it's own presence and authenticity.  Probably printing photographs have gone down but not with me, I still have our four- shelf mini closet full of photo albums of each and every trip or our kids' irreplaceable memories.  Every time, page after page of an album reveals more stories of the event. The scenarios come out live and you actually feel being in that moment. It wins out over our TV time in those winter days when I take them out often to rejuvenate their childhood.  These photo albums are one of the few attraction that gets appreciated by our guests also.

Enjoy some shots of my lazy afternoon.

I happened to spend a lazy afternoon walking down the lane with one of my favorite album.

It is like a tradition for me to take out those albums momentarily and refresh my memories at least once in a year.

Our wedding album to celebrate our 18 years of togetherness.

Pictures are snippets of our life, keeping our memories alive. Do consider giving photographs out as a gift. May be a serving photo tray, a couple frame for a get together on a new year's party gift  or an album to keep those snapshots handy. Shower your family and friends with gifts they can appreciate rest of their life. Until we meet again, toodles!
